A day after announcing to fill nearly 9,000-odd constable posts, the state government went a step ahead and decided to extend age relaxation for all category aspirants.
This will benefit a large number of unemployed youth who were seeking age relaxation as the government has issued notification for recruitment after a long gap and the youth too have almost lost an academic year due to separate Telangana agitation.
On Sunday, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to relax three years age limit for both general and all other reservation candidates. As of now, for constable posts, the age limit for general category candidates is 22 years. Now, the same has been extended to 25. For BCs, SCs and STs, the age limit was 27. The age relaxation for these category candidates is also for three years, i.e candidate with 30 years can also apply for the constable posts.
Similar is the case with the posts of sub-inspectors. The age limit for a general candidate aspirant was 25 and for reserved category aspirant it was 30.
‘’A three year relaxation was given for both the reserved and general category candidates for the posts of SIs,’’ a release by the CM’s office said.
