The rupiah recovered from the initial trade losses at 64.09 against the dollar, an increase of 3 countries, in the late morning deals on Friday as the dollar became weak in world markets.
The rupee resumed slightly below 64.14 per dollar against the Thursday closing level of 64.12 per dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market.
The national currency remained in a range of 64.14 and 64.0850 before listing at 64.09 per dollar at 10.25 hrs.
The dollar index against a basket of six major currencies was trading down 0.02% at 92,108.
The dollar fell against the Yen shelter after North Korea’s latest missile launch fueled geopolitical tensions.
Oil prices were trading lower in Asian trade.
Meanwhile, the Sensex benchmark was trading lower at 49.86 points or 0.15% at 32,192.07 at 1030 hrs.
