IBPS has released the new schedule and notice regarding changes in the CWE Exams for PO.
Examination Dates of Preliminary and Main’s for the PO 2015-16
Preliminary Examination – Oct 3,4,10,11 – 2015
Main Examination – Oct 31, 2015
IBPS PO(Probationary Officer) Exam pattern details.
1.The selection will be processed by two levels first is Common written Exam (CWE) and Second is Interview.
2. All participants must have to clear both levels with well performance.
The IBPS PO Common Written Examination will be in two stages i.e. Prelims and Mains
1. Both Preliminary and Main examination is objective type
2. There will be penalty for wrong answer i.e. 0.25 or 1/4th Mark will be deducted
3. Where an answer has not been marked for a question, no marks will be deducted
4. The Tests will be available in English and Hindi Languages
5. The Exam Consists of Multiple Choice Questions with 5 options for each question

Reasoning Ability Syllabus
This section will have question on following topics.
1. Verbal reasoning: Alphabet test, Mathematical operations test, Series test, Analogy.
2. Odd Man out, Classification, Syllogism, Coding-decoding , Blood relations.
3. Number, ranking and time sequence, Causes and effects, Analytic reasoning, Direction sense test.
4. Sitting arrangement, Decision making, Input output, Puzzle, Statement and conclusions Statement and assumptions, Statement and arguments,
Statement and action’s courses.
5. Passage and conclusions, Assertion and reasoning, Figure Series, Word formation, Series.
Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus
1. Number system, HCF & LCM, Number series, Problems based on numbers.
2. Approximation Wrong Number, Decimal fractions, Square root and cube root, Simplifications.
3. Partnerships, Percentage, Ratio and proportions, Average & Ages Ratio & Proportion.
4. Profit and loss, Simple interest and compound interest,[Time and work, Time and distance, Mensuration.
5. Permutation and combination, Probability
6. Data Interpretation: Pie charts, Bar graphs, Line graphs, Mixed graphs
English Language Syllabus
1. Spotting the errors, Phrase substitution, Ordering of sentences or jumbled up sentences.
2. Double blanks in a sentence, Fill in the blanks.
3. Cloze Test, Idioms & Phrases, Choosing the appropriate filler.
4. Synonyms and antonyms, Reconstruction of sentence & passage.
5. One word substitution, Commonly misspelled words, Comprehensions.
